Tremendously high quality of ingredients despite the bargain price. Loved the lamb & rosemary pie and the huge chunks of steak in the steak & chorizo pie were incredible. Gave... read more the traditional pie a go and was pleasantly surprised too. As a proud northerner I drew the line at liquor though and stuck to gravy! If it was a pub then you’d easily expect to pay twice the price and wouldn’t even grumble. Worth mentioning that they’re licensed and is probably the cheapest beer you’ll find in Greenwich all day!

October 6, 2021A fun experience and an inexpensive but solid meal - Family run - self serve - friendly staff - minimal decor - no nonsense pies - rock bottom pricing. If any one or more of those adjectives sound promising then... read more Goddards at Greenwich pies are for you (eat in or take out). If you expect more then you will be disappointed by this replica of an old fashioned pie shop - they even have cold and hot eels on the menu! Sure the traditional pies are all minced beef, but the Full Range offers a broad selection: lamb, chicken, steak and kidney and even a vegetarian cheese and onion pie - all offered with and without mash. A fun experience with a tourist bias but there many obviously local folk eating there.

June 3, 2024Friendly staff, cheap prices for a touristy London location but a poor pie, chewy pastry with a 'swill' filling. I'd rather pay the extra £1 and get a pie that... read more reflects London's Pie and mash heritage in a better light. Even Aldis do a better pie. But staff were very friendly.

Yum...wonderfully satisfying pie and mash - Considering Goddard's has been preparing their pie and mash recipe for over a hundred years, it's not surprising they're really good at it. It was recommended in all the guide... read more books, so of course we had to drop by for a try. The menu included a range of traditional meat pies (mainly beef as well chicken and lamb) but also some non-meat pies and even gluten-free options, all of which were accompanied by mash potatoes. The meals were wholesome and filling, and very tasty with the brown gravy that came along with each plate. There are dining areas both downstairs and upstairs (greater capacity with latter), which are are fairly no-frills. Do note that plates (collected downstairs) are hot, so a little care is needed if carrying the food upstairs.

July 8, 2022Well where to start. Lets be upbeat, the ambience, staff and price could not faulted, unlike the food unfortunately. Went thanks to a You Tube video by Darren John, who... read more for some reason marked it as a 10. The chicken and mushroom pie was filled with what could only be described as sludge with hardly any chicken or mushroom. Pastry was hard at the edges, mash had no butter in it and the gravy was tasteless. Was so looking forward to an inspiring meal but left underwhelmed. I suppose if you shifted a meal with double pie it would get you through the afternoon on a manual job. Seriously if they had pies from our local tripe and sandwich shop particularly the steak and cowheel broken over the back of buttered mash the turnover would double.
